Barely a month after the U.S. government placed a ban along companies doing business with Huawei due to an unspecified national security scourge, President Donald Trump has apparently modulated his velar stance. In a military press group discussion at the G20 Group discussion Saturday, he announced that "American companies will continue" to execute business with the beleaguered telecom giant.
While it's undecipherable whether that extends to the 5G network engineering that Huawei is nonindustrial, it most for sure applies to Google and Mechanical man. Nether the damage of the previous Bachelor of Arts in Nursing, Google was barred from selling an Android license to Huawei, meaning its phones could use the base open-reference code, but would non have access to the each-important Manoeuvre Store and Google apps.
While Trump didn't specifically mention Google, Qualcomm, or Intel in the announcement, he made a point of vocation out the "complex and highly scientific" products created by U.S. tech companies: "What we've done in Silicon Valley is fabulous and nobody has been able to vie with it, and I've united to allow them to bear on to deal that product (to Huawei)."
While the ban hadn't technically taken effect due to a 90-day reprieve, information technology was already affecting the development of future products. Huawei had confirmed that IT was working on its own OS and was reportedly reaching bent on other Republic of China brands such as Oppo, Vivo, and Xiaomi arsenic partners. Now that Google tooshie continue to sell its Android license to Huawei, the company will indigence to decide whether to extend following the project or stick with its EMUI OS.
Combined thing that ISN't changing, however, is Huawei's power to sell its phones in the United States. However, Trump didn't close the room access on that possibleness either, expression the two countries "will have to save that to the very end" of their negotiations over tariffs.
